Weddings are joyous occassions where it is the one time a man usually gets to wear a ring after the marriage vows. It could be a simple gold band to one set with ruby, jade or diamonds. Now adays it is quite normal for a successful man to own many rings just as he would own a number of wrist watches. Reasons for men wearing jewelry range from traditions and beliefs that gems bring luck and protection as well as plain self indulgence and the pleasure of owning something rare and lasting. Jewelry always come in handy in times of need, we hope however that it won't ever have to come to that. Rings, cuff links, tie pins, earrings are all items men can select to adorn themselves as they feel and wish. Super stars and celebrities do their part in influencing the younger age group. Wearing earrings now adays is no longer considered odd in fact on the contary it is considered "hip". Soccer stars, rock stars, movie stars play a major role in setting trends. It is now fashionable to give a lady friend a pink diamond ring as a symbol of your heart felt love and feelings, further more the more expensive the piece is the more effective and responsive the lady friend will be to return your generoisity (warnings: this dosen't always work!). Men's jewelry are usually in more solidly build settings to guard and with stand physical wear and tear. The stones used in men's jewelry are also selected for their ability to with the "blows and knocks" of your every day usage. Diamonds, rubies and sapphires, cat's eye, jade, lapis, onyx, star rubies and sapphires are but just some of the varieties of gems found in men's jewelry. Moonstones, opals, fire agates, tourmalines, citrine, amethyst are also popular but are usually bezel mounted for protection against chipping and breakage. A well dressed man wearing some jewelry is considered cultured, smart and tasteful person. There is no need to "over kill" by wearing ostentatious pieces too big for your fingers or one that is extremely "flashy", this of course has exceptions for example Liberace or performers in show biz who feel the need to add "sparkle and glitter" for drawing added attention and interest to themselves. What ever your choice, your jewelry will reflect your personality, character and mood. For many, it is jewelry is a success symbol not unlike a Mercedes or a BMW.
