Definitely well made and possessing all the positive attributes of color, clarity, and cut. Purported to have been mined in Mozambique, the oval cut ruby weighs 2.42 carats and displays a dominant red hue typical of the AIGS Type A hue. The tone is 85 to 90 percent and is considered on the slightly dark end of the scale. The clarity is eye clean and under strong lighting and magnification reveals a dearth of minute "micro needlelike rain" inclusions. The stone possess an excellent proportion and polish thus showing off its brilliance with grace and ease. A 4 Star AIGS Quality Rating does justify its asking price.
