Kyauk Pyat That Mine Mogok Burma

The size of a prune, this specimen of ruby crystals covering painite was found in the Kyauk Pyat That Mine of Mogok gem mining region. Painite was once a rarest of rare gemstone, now has become very rare again. This particular sample is interesting due to its association with ruby and the relatively undamaged nature of the piece. It displays the micro crystal on the exterior covering complete an inner core which is believed to be painite. A rare and attractive piece.
